The Value of Education

School-info4u.com wants parents, carers and young people alike to realise the value of education.

Do you really think you can afford to undervalue your child’s education? Make a commitment to take action today! By taking action you can ensure that your child succeeds in education and is given the opportunity to fulfill their potential.

It is essential that we value education and realize that it can open doors for our young people. Having an education doesn't mean that your child’s life will be easy, but without it their life can definitely be more difficult.

Malcolm X said, 'Education is an important element in the struggle to help our children and people rediscover their identity and thereby increase self-respect. Education is our passport to the future.’

We urge you to move forward with confidence into the future and not wait for the mood to strike; today is the time to get to work. Your desire and commitment will be rewarded when your child thanks you later!

Sometimes it takes a little reflection on the negative, to ignite the positive. So for all those who have become complacent, treat this as a ‘wake up call’.

Take responsibility for your child’s learning so that they will be encouraged to take responsibility too.

Our young people are losing their way and falling victim to drugs, violence, prison, unemployment, premature parenthood and poor education.

It’s time to challenge the indifference and ignorance that fuels this, by uniting and working together for a brighter future for our young people.

Let’s try to reach a new level of progressive thinking by correcting our mistakes.  We can move mountains if we are united and we can challenge what the future holds.

A better education for your child: The way forward

Booker T Washington dedicated his life to education. He believed that it would raise his people to equality and improve their lives.

He was born into slavery in 1856 and although his family was poverty stricken, he persevered and eventually achieved his dream of becoming a teacher.

He was a motivational speaker and stressed the importance of education to people of colour. He famously said, ‘nothing ever comes to one, that is worth having, except as a result of hard work’.

Education is something that no one can ever take away from your child. A good education is something to be proud of, so you should encourage your child to make the most out of it.

Your child’s education should be of paramount importance to and you must demand the best for them and of them.

You do have a choice about the kind of parent you can be and our objective is not to criticize, but to help you to reflect, re-evaluate and re-teach. We acknowledge the fact that good parents are made, not born.

‘By learning you will teach; by teaching you will learn’. Latin Proverb

‘To accomplish great things we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe’. Anatole France
