African Writers’ Evening
A bi-monthly event featuring African writers at the Poetry Café in Covent Garden. Guest writers have included Brian Chikwava, Jack Mapanje and Helen Oyeyemi. Readings take place on the third Friday of the month in May, July, September & November.

Eric Soul presents Afrogroov
(Fortnightly on Wednesdays)
This fortnightly event takes place upstairs at the Ritzy Cinema on Wednesdays. The night features a fusion of DJs and live acts providing music from across the African continent, with Dakar, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone Uganda and Rio represented on the decks. The night starts at 8pm and is free.

Produced and promoted by Hatch Events, Out of Africa is high up on the clubbing and live gigging scene. Held annually in March, July and November at The Spitz club, the night has featured Ghanaian highlife, Zulu Warrior dancing, Nigerian talking drums, Kwaito, Gum-Boot dancing, Capoeira, Break dancing, Afrobeat and more.
